Deals: I’d Buy That For A Dollar!

1DollarVideoGames

If you’re into cheap video games and don’t mind them being used and not coming with the original manuals or boxes and you’re a cheap ass like me, then you might want to shop at 1DollarVideoGames.com.

There’s quite a selection of games on offer for a number of non-Next Gen game platforms, including a number that I’ve been keen to add to my collection as well. Each game costs $1, and the maximum shipping and handling you’ll pay is $9.95.

What’s the catch you ask? Well, first off the games are used, and the discs have probably got some wear and tear on them. They may need some careful Disc Doctoring and repairing of your own to get them working just right. You’re also missing the other parts that come with the game. That doesn’t bother me any because I put all my games into CD case holders so that they’re all together and take up less space, but I know that many gamers like to hang onto manuals and boxes.

I’ve never bought from them, so I can’t give you a first hand report on them, but I’ll be ordering from them in a few weeks once I’ve replenished my game buying fund (I’ve went to town the past few weeks). There’s about 20 games I’d like to get to bring down the cost of each game to around $1.50 after including shipping and handling.

If anyone decides to order from them, let me know how it goes.

The guys behind this site also run a couple of others, which all tie into buying and selling games. Check out SellVideoGames.com, SwapVideoGames.com and TradeXbox360Games.com for more information.

  1. The simple fact that they have 67 NES games on their site is awesome … you could build an awesome NES library (that is probably profitable on eBay should you get tired of it) nearly instantaneously.

I’m guessing they get their games from the other sites out there that they offer, and the selection in some areas is lacking, but it is an awesome idea.

My still favorite trading site is Game Trading Zone (http://www.gametz.com), but it lacks the ease of use (and flat ability to just “buy” what you need without negotiating) that sites like this have.

  2. Thought #2 … these all appear to be fronts for a company called BRE software. You may want to go to their site directly to find their trade-in amounts or other info.
