Flash Friday: Bubble Tanks

BubbleTanks

Bubble Tanks, also by Hero Interactive, is a variant of Flow. Instead of moving up between deeper levels of a organic sea, you move from bubble to bubble, destroying enemies before they destroy you and attempting to grow your own bubble tank. Movement is controlled by using the WASD keys, and you can shoot by using the mouse button. Like Flow, this is an addictive little game that will soon have your zooming around the screen trying to make yourself the biggest and baddest bubble tank around.

Flash Friday: Starshine

StarShine

Starshine by Hero Interactive is a clever game where you have to play "star pool", and use a single ball to strike stars which will then follow the laws of physics and strike other stars. When all the stars are highlighted, the level is complete. This requires some trial and error on the part of the player to work out the optimal position to launch from, but the game is fun and challenging anyway. There are 100 levels to complete, and although it won't take too long to do so, you'll feel your brain getting a workout. A perfect lunch break game.

Flash Friday: Manic Miner

ManicMinerFlash

Just to keep things even, here's a Flash version of Manic Miner for you to play. There's no sound, but the game is still very playable. Use the left and right arrow keys to have Miner Willy move accordingly and use the space bar to jump.

Addictive, isn't it?

Deals: GoGamer.com Crysis Deal

GoGamer.com have got an awesome pre-order deal for Crysis, offering it for $39.90 instead of the MSRP of $49.99. Included in this deal is a free poster and the knowledge that you’re saving some moolah. The game isn’t due out until September 30th 2007, but it looks fantastic right now. Of course, I don’t have a powerful enough machine to run it, but I’m allowed to drool, right?

Flash Friday: Chuckie Egg

Chuckie Egg!

I was going to post this on Tuesday along with this article on what got me into home video games, but decided to save it for Flash Friday.

Here's a Flash version of Chuckie Egg for you to play to your heart's content! It's a faithful rendition of the BBC Micro/Electron version of the game, but is missing the ability to change the movement keys and to play multi player. Still, it's a LOT of fun.

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move around and the space bar to jump.

Also included at the site are a number of Repton games, a fun version of Hopper (Frogger), and Galaforce. Retro Heaven!
