As part of celebrating my birthday on Tuesday, I went in to Half Price Books spend the gift card that one of my brothers-in-law gave me. I  managed to find a goodly number of deals in the store for Windows PC games, but I only walked away with two: The Moment of Silence ($6), and Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon ($5). There were a number of other games there for Windows PCs as well, but I had most of them already, and the others I wasn’t interested in. Because HPB buys lots of products tin bulk hat fail to move from other retailers, they get a good price on them and can sell them for much cheaper. That means there’s a lot of games under $10 for purchase, and this includes a number of console games. HPB are also still running their gift card deal where you get an extra $5 when you buy a $25 gift card until June 30th.

I did manage to find a copy of Oblivion for $19.99, but decided not to buy it because I didn’t want to cause my family to suffer through me disappearing for months on end to just play the game. I just made it to nine years married. I don’t need a divorce now.

Also, when in a HBP store, check the clearance section for video, computer, roleplaying and board game deals. You might get lucky as I did when I found a used copy of the Rifts Collector’s Edition leather hardback for $3 (Reg. $32.95). Admittedly, there was some crayon drawing on a few pages, but that’s too good a deal to pass up and to add the game back into my collection.
